LIU YAO · 六爻
Ask one question. Cast six lines. See how the matter moves.
A real Na Jia chart — palace, six relatives, self and counterpart lines, six spirits, month and day — explained in plain language for the question you actually asked.
You’ll write your question on the first step. One matter per cast — the more specific the question, the clearer the chart.
Examples to get you started. You’ll type your own question inside the reading.

Narrow it to one concrete question, ideally with a time frame.

Three coins per throw, built from the bottom line up. Old yin and old yang are the moving lines.

Stems and branches, six relatives, self and counterpart lines and six spirits are placed for you.

The reading names the key line, the trend and the timing — and you can ask a follow-up.
Every reading starts from the same chart a Liu Yao practitioner would build by hand. The interpretation then points back to specific lines, so you can see why.
“Will this job offer come through this month?”
The offer is likely to land — just not right away.
The counterpart line, Official Shen metal, is moving, is fed by the day and advances into You metal. Your self line sits on the day branch, so your own position is steady. The Hai water month drains the metal, which is why things move slowly.
Watch for news on a Shen or You day.
This sample is a fixed demo. Your own chart is built from the month and day at the moment you cast.

The method only changes how you cast. The chart rules stay exactly the same.
For a specific event: will it happen, what's in the way, and when.
One matter, one cast — no recasting until it says what you want. Health diagnoses, court cases and lottery numbers aren't good questions to cast; those deserve a doctor, a lawyer, or simply an honest conversation.
No. Liu Yao only uses the month and day at the moment you cast, plus the six lines you throw. There is nothing to fill in about your birth.
One concrete matter with an outcome: whether an offer lands, a payment arrives, someone gets in touch, an exam goes well, a lost item turns up, or roughly when something will be settled. Very broad questions like “what will my whole life be like” are better narrowed first — the tool will ask you to.
Each throw drops three coins independently, each with an even 50/50 chance. One side counts 2 and the other 3, so every line value from 6 to 9 comes up just as often as it would with real coins. The result is fixed the moment it is thrown.
A line that comes up 6 (old yin) or 9 (old yang) is a moving line — the part of the matter that is actively changing. Flip those lines and you get the changed hexagram, which shows where things are heading. With no moving lines the chart is static and the primary hexagram carries the reading.
It's better not to. Liu Yao works on one matter, one cast; recasting the same thing again and again only muddies the answer. Cast again when something has genuinely changed, or ask a follow-up on the chart you already have.

Yes. Choose “Enter Your Lines” and type in the six values (6 old yin, 7 young yang, 8 young yin, 9 old yang). The chart is built with exactly the same rules.

One matter, six lines, a clear read on where it's going.
